ANOTHER “D” DAY

“I look up to the mountains; my strength come from mountains?  No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.  He won’t let you stumble; your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.  Not on your life! Israel’s Guardian will never doze or sleep.  God’s your Guardian, right at your side to protect you—shielding you from sunstroke, sheltering you from moonstroke.  God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life.  He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always.” (Psalm 121 The Message Bible)

Sometimes we all have had a “D” Day; a day where we are attacked by something unwanted  that gets in our way.  Committed to the climb, we all declare.  But here it comes, another “D” Day, so beware.  By a “D” day preacher, just what do you mean?  Let me make it plain, so as to keep it clean.

A “D” Day is one where you face disappointment, find yourself disillusioned, feel like you have been denied or your long-awaited blessing has been delayed.  A “D” Day is when you feel dejected, down, depressed, disregarded, or devoid as it relates to reasons to have joy.  A “D” Day is one that you wake up disgusted, deprived, or feeling you have been dissed for no good reason; nothing you can explain.  A “D” Day is where the world tries to defraud you, rob you of your righteous reward.  It is a day where devilish thoughts enter your mind and where try as you may to stop it, you become disengaged or detached from your goal to live holy and live right.  Oh there are other “D” Days; days where you depend on everything but God to get you through.  Well, that kind of day my friend, that’s on you!  There are days when you disregard the Holy Spirit’s plea to petition the Lord, pray for deliverance from the unwanted that gets in your way.  I submit to you that when another “D” day shows up you fearlessly fight back to keep it from destroying your day, disrupting a relationship, or distancing you from the world.  The length of this meditation will not allow me to go through all the types of “D” Days, but let me address merely a few.  By doing so you will discover, hopefully, a way to deal with another “D” Day when it shows up!  God is the answer.

Disappoint pays you a temporary visit.  Tell it good riddance for you know God will help you take care of it.  Everything will be all right!  Dejected because of the rejection that woke you up and messed up your day? Don’t worry for that will pass and out of nowhere, the Lord will make a way.  Everything will be all right!  Disillusioned by happenings here and happenings there?  Just hang in there, wait for the Lord and for His divine intervention, the miracle with your name on it, to appear.   Everything will be all right!

Disengaged and you feel like crying?  Turn to God for strength and keep on trying!  Dry your tears and calm your fear.  Turn to God, remembering that He is forever, oh so near.  Everything will be all right!

When you have another type of “D” Day that I did not mention, whatever it is, bring it to God’s attention.  And keep this in mind, everything will be all right!  Be encouraged or encourage someone else today.  Be blessed!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 KJV)

Still committed to the climb,
