“In the spring of the year, when kings normally go out to war, David sent Joab and the Israelite army to fight the Ammonites…” (2 Samuel 11:1a NLT)
I’m sure we can all reflect back on our youth when we did not go where we should have gone. We found ourselves in places we were not supposed to be. Come on! Be honest now! Tell the truth! There were consequences for our misdeeds and mutinous behavior.
Looking at the text above in context, it is safe to assert that King David should have gone out to war, but he sent Joab to lead the Israelites army to fight. David stayed home. You know the consequences, in David’s case. A whole chain of troubling events happened, ranging from lying to adultery, and from adultery to murder, and a plethora of consequences, spreading over generations, all because David was not where he was supposed to be.
This Sunday morning, even if your church is not meeting face-to-face, attend the service virtually, at the regular scheduled time. See what specific message the Lord has specifically for you today. The consequences for not attending the gathering of the saints can be avoided. You can circumvent much trouble, avoid negative consequences, and at the least, avert a long-lasting feeling of a sense of guilt. All I can say my friend, “Be where you are supposed to be!” Be blessed!
“So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.” (Hebrews 11:22-25 The Message Bible)
Still committed to the climb,
