“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)
Early Friday morning, I was walking around with a piece of wall art in my hand trying to find the perfect place to hang it on a wall. Not just any wall, and certainly not a hidden wall, but a wall where all who entered the room would see it displayed and definitely be taught by the words embossed on this small piece of art. The wall art, shaped in the form of a one-foot cross, says, “Let your faith be bigger than your fear.”
I thought about the admonition that adorns the wall in what we call the “TV Room,” a misnomer nowadays since TVs are in every room of the house. But I also thought that the words on the wall art were worth sharing with others, like yourself, especially as we enter a new week that will possibly come with unsuspected surprises, unwanted circumstances, unyielding challenges, and undesirable changes. Be assured that whatever awaits you in the week ahead, the Lord is with you! Know that God will be with you. He will give you the strength you need. He will not only help you, but the Almighty will take hold of you with His righteous right hand. As the Amplified Version of the Bible explains, His righteous right hand is a hand of justice, of power, and of salvation. That’s good news to start your week this Sunday morning.
I know you have to get to this morning’s worship service, but before you do read the passage below for both encouragement and edification. Now be sure that this week, and in the weeks to come, that you let your faith take precedence over your fear. Be blessed!
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” (Matthew 6:30-24 The Message)
Still committed to the climb,
