A PERSONAL TESTIMONY TO BE SHARED

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8 NASB)

A former co-worker shared this testimony with me.  We became acquainted when I was the top HR person at 1,000 employee, distribution center.  I’m glad I can report that my classification did not hinder me from conducting myself in a way that would hide the fact that Christ lived within me.  So now you understand why my co-worker had no hesitancy in sharing her testimony and talking about the Lord.  Christ superseded job classification.  That’s the way it should be.

This is her testimony.  “I recently recalled an early Sunday school teaching, centered around the verse found in Philippians 4:8.  After all these years, I finally became transformed by this particular verse, taken from the word.  Better late than never, right?”  She went on to say, “I then went on to change my way of thinking, and once I changed my  way of thinking, I changed both my way of talking, and acting.”  I’m listening intently as she continues, “I went from inward thinking, to outward behaving in a way Jesus would be pleased.”

We are on the warehouse floor, but that does not keep her from continuing, “At first, I did not notice it, but I gradually began integrating into my conversations, more talk about spiritual things, more thoughts about God; and more conversation about praising God.  With time I progressed to being more bold and open about God as it related to every segment of my life.”  She smiles and she started singing quietly a brief excerpt from a familiar song as she walked away.  As you can tell she modified the original verse to make her point and point out a progression, “I’m thinking, talking, and walking with my mind stayed on Jesus.”  A few steps away, she ended her testimony with one word, “Hallelujah!”

I hope my sharing of this co-worker’s personal testimony, presented with permission, will become a shared testimony for each one perusing Mark Writes this particular morning and I hope you are moved to share the benefits of God’s word on your life too!  Have a great Tuesday!   Think, talk, and walk with your mind stayed on Jesus!  Be blessed!

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit.  It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” (Isaiah 55:11 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
