“PARALLEL RELIGION”

“And if it is disagreeable to your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me, and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 NASB)

It is Monday morning, time for your short meditation, one with a tall challenge.  As you start your week, you must make a choice.  Better stated, you will be faced with making several choices, one after the other, Monday through Saturday.  Will you choose the preferred option of serving God in every area of your life; in your internal thoughts, in your interactions, in your inclinations, and in your indications emanating from your being, or will you opt, as evident by your activities that are influenced by the world around you, to serve yourself, the secular things that oppose the will of God, or Satan?  Will you put true religion over false religion?  Will you make the mistake of trying to have it both ways?  In other words, will you be content to practice a type of parallel religion?  I hope you make a choice similar to the choice Joshua made, at least as it applies to you personally.  “But as for me, and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Well there you have it, the promise of a short Monday meditation fulfilled.  Now what follows is up to you.  So, truly meditate on it!  Massage the question in your mind!  Manage your way through today and every day you are blessed to see going forward!  Make the right choice.  Move any trace of parallel religion all of your life.  Have a great start to your week!  Be blessed!

Now listen!  Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.” (Deuteronomy 30:15 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,
