FIVE FOR FRIDAY

What a deal!  It may not be “Two for One,” or “BOGO,” but it’s better than that bargain or any other weekend special.  Here are “Five for Friday,” a handful of Scriptures in an acrostic format, familiar passages, but perhaps they will be useful as you formulate and frame your weekend plans, and forge ahead on your Christian journey.  Enjoy!

Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (Philippians 3:13b-14 NLT)

Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God.  Think of all the good that has come from their lives and follow the example of their faith. (Hebrews 13:7 NLT)

Incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel. (Joshua 24:23b NASB)

Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NASB)

Always be glad because of the Lord!  I will say it again: Be glad (Rejoice!). (Philippians 4:4 CEV)

Yield not into temptation: Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41 KJV)

Start out your weekend with these things in mind!  Meditate on these gems; give them some thought!  Don’t just read them quickly!  Then respond!  Oh, one more bit of Scriptural advice, not included in the acrostic above.  See the closing verse below!  Be blessed!

Be wise in the way you act toward those who are not believers, making good use of every opportunity you have.” (Colossians 4:5 Good News Translation)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
