What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.

Tuesday night I had a dream about my two year old great granddaughter. We were in a new building where our local church was meeting, much bigger than the edifice we are presently occupying. There was a second story for classrooms. In the dream, my great granddaughter and I were walking up a winding staircase and when we were almost at the top, she jumped to the first floor where her mother, my granddaughter, was conversing with another young mother who belongs to the church. As she leaps, I’m left standing in shock, stunned, and surprised! My granddaughter hears a thud. It’s the sound of my great granddaughter landing on both feet. If she had been in a gymnastic event, she probably would have scored a perfect ten or maybe even surpassed that score to receive a twelve or even a higher score. Her mother looks at her, smiles and continues her conversation while her child runs off in the vestibule fellowshipping with every adult saint in the building as if that was her official position. That was the dream. I’ll share the message after I tell you about the vision.
Earlier in the same day I was visioning heaven. I was actually wondering what my mother, my great granddaughter’s great, great grandmother, was thinking as she looked down from Paradise. I saw her face, adorned with that peaceful smile that prevailed during every day of her life. She spoke these words with a pleasant voice; those calming words I have heard many faithful matriarchs of the church speak throughout my lifetime during times of difficulty or when tranquility was temporarily denied, “It will be alright.”
I believe the dream and vision carried the same message, one most appropriate for times such as these, “It will be alright.” Oh we all need the faith of a fearless child and a faithful saint that made it over the hills, out of the valleys, through testing times, and threatening times of crisis; made it all the way to Heaven. We need to overcome our fear while facing real challenges as faith filled believers, knowing, “It will be alright.” Now you have it; a dream, a vision, and the same message. And if that is not enough, here is another message, found in Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV): “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Be blessed!
