“Then they came to Bethsaida; and some people brought a blind man to Jesus and begged Him to touch him. Taking the blind man by the hand, He led him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see people, but [they look] like trees, walking around.” Then again Jesus laid His hands on his eyes; and the man stared intently and [his sight] was [completely] restored, and he began to see everything clearly.” (Mark 8:22-25 Amplified Bible)
Have you ever gone to the optometrist only because your primary care doctor told you it was time for your annual checkup? Or have you gone to get a new prescription because the online supplier of the latest styles and colors of glasses would not take your order because your vision prescription was too old? In both cases you did not think you would get a new diagnosis. However, in most cases, there was some type of adjustment made to your prescription. Wanting to see clearly and perfectly, you forked out the money to get glasses that would really work.
It’s Saturday, so I will make this quick. When it comes to spiritual sight, we must constantly adjust our vision. We do that by going to the Great Physician via the study of His word, by prayer, and by adjusting our lives to meet His expectations for living. Face it! An annual check will not do! Not even a weekly check up on Sunday morning will ensure that your spiritual sight is clear as it can be. No! You have to check in and get a check-up every day. Like the man in the text above, we are always in need of a second touch. Take my referral and visit the doctor daily, including today, and of course tomorrow when you attend services at your local church. Take my referral please, so you can adjust all the things you need to make your spiritual sight better and modify your vision to overcome the prisms you have been looking through that have unconsciously impeded your spiritual improvement and robbed you of better sight. Be honest as you think about your prisms now! We all have some and the enemy doesn’t mind that you forego dealing with them. Enjoy your day! Prep for tomorrow! Pray before tomorrow! Present yourself in “the place to be” tomorrow! And, when someone asks you what you are doing tomorrow, don’t say, “I’m not doing nothing!” Say, I am going into the house of the Lord, and I am going in with gladness and praise, and I know I will come out seeing better than when I went in! I love you, my friend! Be blessed!
“But happy is the man who has the God of Jacob as his helper, whose hope is in the Lord his God—the God who made both earth and heaven, the seas and everything in them. He is the God who keeps every promise, who gives justice to the poor and oppressed and food to the hungry. He frees the prisoners and opens the eyes of the blind; he lifts the burdens from those bent down beneath their loads. For the Lord loves good men.” (Psalm 146:5-8 The Living Bible)
Still committed to the climb,
