“God called to the Man: “Where are you?” (Psalm 23: 1-4 The Message Bible)
This is your “Monday Short” meditation! Let me start with a brief, true story. I think I have shared with you in the past that I have a coffee cup that has these words inscribed on it, “No Coffee, No Talkie.” In my efforts to make sure my pre-anesthesia appointment went well Friday, something you have to apparently go through before surgery, I did not drink any regular coffee! No caffeine! Nada! I tried to psych myself by drinking a partial cup of decaf. I’m telling you, “I was not the same.” I was quiet! My wife asked me why I was down and went on to ask me did I need to have my favorite “No Coffee, No Talkie” cup in my hands. I did not deny my behavior had changed and I even slept more than usual. I mean I did not just take “a nap,” but I two of the all the way out, lay in the bed naps. Actually, I took a couple of those types of naps. Withdrawn and without energy? Perhaps! Stressed by anxiety suppressed? Perhaps! Wondering about the hospital complying my expectations to be on time? Perhaps! But when asked about the cup, it was brought to my mind that no matter if I missed my coffee or not, and no matter what circumstances confront me, I must still be a witness for the Lord! The same is true to you, my friend! Wherever you are, whatever you are lacking, or whatever you face, start your week off with a great Monday! Be blessed!
“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5: 14-16 The Message Bible)
Still committed to the climb,
