“He came to the outskirts of Jericho. A blind man was sitting beside the road asking for handouts. When he heard the rustle of the crowd, he asked what was going on. They told him, “Jesus the Nazarene is going by.” He yelled, “Jesus! Son of David! Mercy, have mercy on me!” Those ahead of Jesus told the man to shut up, but he only yelled all the louder, “Son of David! Mercy, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and ordered him to be brought over. When he had come near, Jesus asked, “What do you want from me?” He said, “Master, I want to see again.” Jesus said, “Go ahead—see again! Your faith has saved and healed you!” The healing was instant: He looked up, seeing—and then followed Jesus, glorifying God. Everyone in the street joined in, shouting praise to God.” (Luke 18:35-43 The Message Bible)
As you are going by today; going by the store, going by a virtual meeting, going by others in your house, and going by, in a sense, people on a social media forum, somebody who needs Jesus will hopefully see the Christ that lives in you. Yes, you will be a living love letter, a living epistle, or better yet, an encapsulated sermon that has one major point, “Look where the Lord brought me from.” Let your presence preach a sermon. If you allow that to happen, look what will take place. People will notice your new life demeanor. Onlookers will observe what a wonderful change the Lord has wrought in your life. Workers who you pass by daily will see your witness at work. They will see the light shining forth from you as you walk with your humility at a high point, and your head held high, confident that Jesus words will be manifest in you amidst the multitudes.
As in our opening passage, somebody is going to pay attention to your presence. Somebody on the outside, the outskirts of “The New Jerusalem” will approach you, assessing correctly that you know the avenue on which a person can go from blindness to sight. Somebody will approach you as you are going by, and you will have an opportunity; a God-given opportunity to help somebody regain their spiritual sight which was blinded and perhaps produced by the negative impact and numbing effect of sin in a declining society. Perhaps that somebody you encounter as you are going by, will return to the spiritual place where they were once able to once see. Somebody, between the ages of 18-40 will see how Christ has changed you and they will want what you have. Well, when that happens point them to the Master. Tell them to approach the Lord by faith and they will find healing, instantly. They will find better, to some degree, right away. And listen, there will be a domino effect. You will be going by letting the Christ in you be obvious to others. Somebody will embrace Christ by faith again. Others will be amazed at where the Lord has brought that somebody from. The Lord will be glorified! Praises will be shouted out to God! Now don’t be left out, you join in the shouting of praises to God too. Yes. When someone notices your change, just say, “All praises to God the Father and to God the Son!” Stay with Jesus all day long as you are going by here and going by there, and let Him take over your personality, your presence, your presentation, your priorities, and your plans as you walk on through this day. Have a wonderful Friday! Be blessed!
“I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” (Galatians 2:20 The Amplified Bible)
Still committed to the climb,
