STAY RIGHT THERE!

“Don’t eavesdrop on the conversation of others.  What if the gossip’s about you and you’d rather not hear it?  You’ve done that a few times, haven’t you—said things behind someone’s back you wouldn’t say to his face?!” (Ecclesiastes 7:21-22 The Message Bible)

Today’s opening verses come right after yesterday’s opening verse.  That’s why I titled this meditation, “Stay Right There!”  It’s Thursday and you have not received a short meditation this week yet!  Even the “Monday Short” was longer than usual.   So, you deserve a meditation that can be described as brief, but also beneficial.  Short in words, but long in wisdom.  Here it is!  Stop celebrating like the kid that was told, “No homework this weekend,” and read on!

We have some things we found like a “needle in a haystack” (smile); found two things in our own behavioral tendencies, I suspect, that are part of what we need to work on: (1) eavesdropping (snooping, spying, and sneakily prying), and (2) gossiping.  Our purity just got purer!  Smile!  Our righteousness just got more righteous!  Thank you, Jesus!  Have the best Thursday you can possibly experience!  Smile again!  Be blessed!

“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.” (Proverbs 4:18 NASB)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
