TODAY’S HIGHIGHTED S.O.P.

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8 ESV)

In most of the jobs we have held, we were given a book, or a volume of books called Standard Operating Procedures S.O.P.).  To be truthful, there are only a couple of people I know who were so dedicated that they read such a book in its entirety when they first received it.  Many glanced through it, reviewing the table of contents.  That’s better than nothing.  Others simply put it on the bookshelf, and it became part of the office décor.  While it might have been pulled off the shelf in an emergency, or perhaps to dust it off as part of an office cleaning routine, most of the time, the S.O.P. book, it just set there.

Our S.O. P., referring to believers when I say “our,” is the Word of God, the Bible, the Scriptures, ranging from Genesis to The Book of Revelation.  It is full of procedures, prescribed practices, and principles inspired by God.  Hopefully your Bible is not just a piece of décor or something you carry on the Lord’s Day for appearance’s sake.  Prayerfully you refer to it and have a plan to read through it.  There is a lot I could choose from to highlight today.  However, I have been led to pull out just one of the S.O.P.’s for you to focus on and keep it at the forefront of your mind.  Make it a real practice.  Make it your practice.

Here’s today’s highlighted S.O.P., one that will help our organization, the whole body known as the universal church.  Are you ready?  Read on! “We must work the works of Him who sent Me, as long as it is day; nighttime is coming, when no man can work (John 9:4 NASB).”

I just might pull some other S.O.P.’s to highlight this week to ensure you stay God-conscious and commit to benefitting the Lord’s church.  Have a great Tuesday!  Be blessed!

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.  Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 The Message Bible)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
