“Let everything alive give praises to the Lord! You praise him!” (Psalm 150:6 The Living Bible)
If you attended Sunday School back in the day, when you were a kid, you probably sang, “Praise Him!” Do you remember letting the words come out of your mouth, “Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him in the morning! Praise Him in the noon day! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him till the sun goes down?” You may still sing it today as an adult; sing a more contemporary version that does not differ much. But there is one thing different about when you sang those words as a kid and how you sing them now! At least there should be! Afterall, we are not kids anymore!
Now you can sing them all throughout the day, realizing that the Lord is worthy of your praise. When you were a kid, your family may have been going through some things, but when you sang in Sunday School, you were just uttering words you had been taught. You were not genuinely praising God for bringing your family through those things. Well, we are not kids anymore! Now, as adults, we recognize what it means to go through something, and we realize that it is the Lord that brings us through! Por praise is for real! As kids we never thought about our stuff as blessings. Our stuff was just “stuff.” But we are not kids anymore! Now, we praise Him out of the sincerity of our hearts for all the “stuff” He blesses us with, including the “stuff” we would rather not go through, but we realize that the Lord is strengthening is through the “stuff.” We know He is using us to teach lessons to others regarding perseverance, optimism, and trust in the Lord. So, when we say, “Praise Him” nowadays, every day, morning, noonday, and night, we realize that the Lord is worthy to be praised! Why is that the case? It is because we know, we now recognize, that the Lord is the One who pours our blessings on us!
Therefore, regardless of what time of day it is that you are reading this, stop and praise the Lord for all He has done, and all He is doing for you, and all He shall do in your life! Let everything that has breath, praise ye the Lord! Now, you do this, okay? Remember, we are not kids anymore! Take a praise break! He deserves it! Be blessed!
“Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness.” (Psalm 145:3 NLT)
Still committed to the climb,
