“Here is my servant! I have made him strong. He is my chosen one; I am pleased with him. I have given him my Spirit, and he will bring justice to the nations. He won’t shout or yell or call out in the streets. He won’t break off a bent reed or put out a dying flame, but he will make sure that justice is done. He won’t quit or give up until he brings justice everywhere on earth, and people in foreign nations long for his teaching.” (Isaiah 42:1-4 Contemporary English Version)
As Isaiah prophesied and as Christ proved the prophetic word true, Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, He would not fail to please the Father! Jesus would not fail to fulfill His purpose outside of how the Lord intended! Jesus would not quit! Jesus would not give up! As a matter of fact, He still has not given up! His continuing interest in helping you makes that evident. His intercession for you, every day, supports that statement! His delay in His return proves that to be true!
Here is a brief question for you this Wednesday morning: Jesus, He would not; what about you? Will you continue to fulfill your God-given purpose? Will you quit pursuing “better” as a believer? Will you give up walking by faith? I hope your answers to each of these questions was a resounding “No!”
This meditation was short, but I hope it strengthens you throughout this day as we keep our minds focused on both the first and second advent, as well as the work we have to fulfill in the meantime. Have a great Wednesday! Be blessed!
“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 NASB)
Still committed to the climb,
