At 2:41 a.m. yesterday morning, I received an email from a first cousin who I have called “Little M” for, let’s just say a long time. Because of age and not accomplishments, nor academic achievements, not because of writing acumen, or any other factor, just age mind you, she refers to me as “Big M.” If it were any of the few factors I just named, our nicknames probably would be reversed. Go ahead and smile!
Our paths in life have been different. Our geographical locations are miles apart. Our life journeys as children of God include unique experiences and are not identical. The one similarity through our travels through this barren land; the one common thread in our life stories is that the Lord our God has been with us from childhood until today, and the faith of our grandparents can be seen in us. That last comment sounds like the faith of Timothy in the Scriptures doesn’t it? You remember how the Apostle Paul talked about the faith that was first in his Timothy’s mother and grandmother, don’t you?
There are some more similarities between “Little M” and me. We both wake up early in the morning, at a time she appropriately calls “The Crack of Dark Thirty.” Yes, we both have body clocks that are “always upside down.” We are both active in faithfully fulfilling our purposes in life as defined by the Lord. We both have an interest in encouraging others who share faith in Jesus Christ and in enlisting those who are lost in the army of the Lord.
When I received her message Sunday, the first email that I received in 2023, I asked, “Are you still up?” She replied, “I regularly see your meditations posted at the “Crack of Dark Thirty.” Well, yesterday “Little M” beat me in releasing, publishing words of encouragement for other believers and those in our families who need Jesus.
Here are some excerpts from her message, words that she asked us to advertise to all you know. I am doing just that this morning! Made my work easy! Read the extracts below!
“This is Captain Jesus. Thanks for choosing Salvation Airline.” “We shall be cruising at Accountable Blessing per day and at millions of miles above sorrow level. The weather may be cloudy, but God’s Grace is sufficient. There may be some turbulence, but Divine intervention is certain. The Prince of Peace will speak, ‘Peace be Still’ to your storms. The angels are our Cabin Crew.” “Our menu includes Peace, Grace, Mercy, Favour, Sound Health, Success and Prosperity. Amazingly they are all free, courtesy of Captain Jesus. Note that this is a ‘No weeping, no mourning’ flight. So, please fasten your Prayer belt. You and all members of your family will land safely. For more information about your safety, please always contact your Safety Manual (The Bible) on a daily basis.” “For any questions, the Holy Spirit shall give you answers any time. Enjoy your flight. There shall be no losses, in Jesus’ mighty name! Amen!”
Regardless of the time of day that you read this meditation, whether you read this at “The Crack of Dark Thirty” or at another time of the day when the sunlight is in clear view, I think your spirit will be lifted up. Mine surely was! Thank God for “Little M!’
One more thing, okay? You will see another similarity. “Little M” always ends her correspondence with “Blessings.” You know how I end every meditation and it is not too much different. “Be blessed!”
Still committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
