“Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.” (Psalm 50:15 Amplified Bible)
Bumps, bruises, burdens, and blues…oh my!
Sunday, we sang one of our church congregation’s favorite songs, “He Brought Me Through This and Brought Me Through That.” It should be one of every believer’s favorite songs as they take a tour down memory lane and recall how the Lord did just what the song proclaims. He brought us through so much.
If we were to be transparent this morning, we would nod our head in the affirmative, indicating that we have experienced one of the following: bumps, bruises, burden, or the blues. Right? Well, now that we have been transparent, let’s be truthful. The best remedy for either of the obstacles or opposing emotions just listed is to keep moving by faith, depending on the Lord to once again to bring you through your “this” or your “that.”
Look! When you hit a bump while driving, you keep on moving down the road. When you suffer a bruise, realizing that some heal faster than others, you keep moving, looking for the healing that will come. When you have to carry a heavy, burdensome object, you quickly realize that you need help. So you call on a friend to help you with your heavy load, and you keep moving to remove the heavy, burdensome object or disposition. When you are feeling the blues, you keep on trudging through the day until you see that your reasons to be grateful outweigh your burdens. Let’s all say it, “I won’t complain.”
Well then! As you go through life, and you experience bumps, bruises, burdens, or the blues, keep moving. Keep pressing on, call on Him in truth, trust in the Lord, and as you keep moving, your bumps will be crossed over and be assigned to the place labeled, “What was!” Keep moving, and your burdens will be lightened, because somewhere I heard, that the Lord is a burden bearer. You can take all your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Again somewhere I heard, “Come unto me all who are heavy laden and burdened and I will give you rest!” Keep moving, and wait for the Lord to take care of your heavy load. You are not going through life alone, never alone.
Keep moving in prayer and your bruises will be healed, as you keep looking to the hills from which comes our help. And we know our help comes from the Lord. Listen! I heard that He is a very present help in times of trouble!
And get this! The blues will be blown away, after you get moving , and you have a little talk with the Lord, and during that talk He reminds you that happy is the One who trust in the Lord, or you recall when you read Paul’s admonishment to rejoice, or the Lord takes you back to His conversation with Elijah where He ask Him “What are you doing here?” In response, get to moving! Get up and get busy, and the blues will go away.
I think it is time to close this meditation, but first know another part of the song I mentioned above. “He brought me through this, and He brought me through that and I’m grateful (Lord) to you!” Move from the negative to the positive and overcome your bumps, your burdens, your bruises, and the blues by simply expressing your gratefulness to the Lord. Oh yeah! You have a lot of blessings to be brought to the forefront of your mind. Get moving my friend and enjoy your Wednesday with some assurance that the Lord will take care of you! It is true! I’m sure that your good times, outweigh you bad times! Keep meditating and you will find yourself shouting out unto the Lord! Be blessed!
“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18 New King James Version)
Still committed to the climb,
