“He has told you, mortal one, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NASB)
A local business leader had a meeting in the downtown area last week. Following the meeting, she decided to stop at a well-known delicatessen just south of downtown Indianapolis. She gets in line, unknowingly, she is positioned in the middle of a group of thirty people, Latinos from various countries in Central America. One of the representatives informs her about the group and says, “We need to stay together because we are paying for all our lunches on one bill.”
The local business leader did not act like some people would react, no matter what line they were in; at the grocery checkout line, at the bank line, at the event line where someone is holding a space for many more people who “cut” the line. No, driven by the Christ in her, guided by the Holy Spirit, she did not let her craving for a delicious lunch and her hunger keep her from doing the right thing. She kindly volunteered to go to the back of the line. That’s how to stay in line, in line. So, now I am presuming that you are asking, like the 6-year-old boy in yesterday’s meditation, “Where was the blessing?” Let me go on with the story to answer your question. The member of the group behind the business leader says, “That’s okay. You stay where you are. It was kind of you to suggest going to the back, but that will not be necessary.” It could have been a different outcome if the business leaders did not know and show how to stay in line, in line. But since she knew, and acted on her knowledge, she received a blessing and avoided a big disturbance. Internally, she waved her right hand, saying, “Thank you Jesus!” Externally, nobody was waving a hand in anyone’s face. That would be a wrong hand. Stay in line, in line, and be blessed!
This week, while this saying is fresh on your mind, remember how to stay in line, and be blessed! Enjoy worship service this Mother’s Day! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and mother figures! Be blessed…even more!
“Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].” (Matthew 5:3 Amplified Bible)
