“Christ has set us free! This means we are really free. Now hold on to your freedom…’” (Galatians 5:1a Contemporary English Version)
On this July 4th morning in the year 2023, let me once again present to you something spoken by Jesus. You know it is going to be profound. For you already are aware of the fact that every time that Jesus said something in His earthly ministry, it was indeed profound. This republished meditation will serve a threefold purpose: (1) It will reassure you of your freedom. (2) It will remind you that freedom, as disciples, comes with responsibilities, and (3) It will revive your sense of urgency as far as reaching out to those who are not yet, truly, really free. Read the passage below. Meditate on it! Make a joyful noise, a spectacular firework display of praise to the Lord for your freedom! Let it be heard by others! Say it loudly, “Praise the Lord, I’m free!” Finally, make sure that you pass this on by forwarding it to someone who is still in bondage, still held captive, and needs to be set free by a faith in Jesus the Christ. Here you go! Be blessed!
“Then many of the Jewish leaders who heard him say these things began believing him to be the Messiah. Jesus said to them, “You are truly my disciples if you live as I tell you to,and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” “But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said, “and have never been slaves to any man on earth! What do you mean, ‘set free’?” Jesus replied, “You are slaves of sin, every one of you. And slaves don’t have rights, but the Son has every right there is!So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free—” (John 8:31-36 The Living Bible)
Still committed to the climb,
