“But the one who denies and rejects Me before men, that one I will also deny and reject before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33 The Amplified Bible)
Most drivers pay attention to warning signs as they travel through the streets and highways. That’s good because warning signs inform motorist of upcoming hazards on the roadway. You have seen them, a great variety of warning signs: lane closed ahead signs, construction ahead signs, detour signs, road closed signs detour signs, no passing zone signs, school crossing ahead signs, steep hill signs, power lines down signs, deep water signs, and many more. Like I said, “Most drivers pay attention to warning signs as they travel through the streets and highways.” Regretfully, and unfortunately, and tragically, some drivers don’t pay attention to such warnings. That’s regrettable and can really lead to consequences that are not reversible.
The warning signs I mentioned above are official, sanctioned signs. Occasionally you see unapproved and unofficial signs posted to telephone poles, trees, and even on the post on which the official signs are mounted. Usually, they are not warning signs. They are typically signs about lost pets, garage sales coming or garage sales that were two weeks ago, “we buy houses” offers, and small business owner’s services. These signs catch are attention, at times more than the warning signs I noted. Just as a side note about official warning signs, doesn’t it get under your skin just a little bit when people ignore warning signs, such as lane ends signs and traffic is backed up. Not paying attention to warning signs causes problems for others and puts them in jeopardy too. Warning signs have a purpose and it is wise to heed appropriately.
Let me get back to the unofficial signs. Recently, I saw one posted on a utility pole on the major east-west street near my neighborhood. It was on 34th Street and if certain people responded, lost people, it could lead to a miracle of 34th Street as the Lord would intervene and save some passerby.
Here’s more about the sign. It was not bright and colorful, just a simple white poster board. Much of the wording was too small to read as you traveled down the road. However, the heading is in big black print, and you can’t miss it! It simply says, “Matthew 10: 33.” I have seen it several times before as I turned on to 34th Street where the sign was posted. Several times I thought that I need to look it up. It was standing out too much to dismiss the necessity of seeing what the verse said. So, I finally looked up the verse and I concluded it was something I should share with you. Perhaps it is another “something” to add to your “Go ye therefore” toolbox. So, read Matthew 10:33 above again, and below too, taken from another Bible translation. Have a great Wednesday! Drive safely! Discipleship actively! Witness responsibly! Am I equipping the saints for the work of ministry? The answer is, “Yes!” Share this with others! Be blessed!
“But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”(Matthew 10:33 NLT)
