“This day belongs to the Lord!” (Psalm 118:24 Contemporary English Version)
You who know me are aware that my greatest challenge is patience, particularly when thing do not go as scheduled, for I am a punctual person. Punctual meaning, in my understanding, being early than the usual start time. Well, this morning I had not written one single word when I got up at 1:15 a.m. As I was getting out of bed, my wife told me the time and I know she was thinking, “It’s too early for you to get up.” So, I said, “I won’t be long. I just have to write the Monday Short meditation and I’ll lay back down. By the time I could type the first word, it was 2:30 p.m. So much for, “I won’t be long.”
As they say nowadays, “What happened was” that my computer went into this very, very, very long restart mode. It went through updating twice, and then it went through a lengthy cleaning up process. All I wanted to do was get up and write about “The Two Crosses,” but I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow.
While waiting for the computer to do it’s restart thing, I figured that I needed to start my day in prayer, realize that this new day belongs to the Lord, just as every day should. And after praying awhile, I opened my eyes and saw the “Cleaning Up” message that started at 0% on it’s way to 100%. Therefore, I went back to praying, prompted that the best way to restart my journey was not only to pray, but to go through the clean up process by confessing my sins of omission and commission. I understood as plain as day that to have the best restart I had to benefit from the Lord’s forgiveness and cleansing of all unrighteousness.
Whether you computer tries your patient or some other circumstance causes you to be anxious as you restart you walk with the Lord this morning, calm down, go boldly to the throne of our gracious God, and involve Him in giving you a new start on this day, cleansed from all your misdeeds, mistakes, mishaps, missed opportunities to do good, and missteps. You will experience a refreshing restart! It worked for me and it will surely work for you! Have a great day! I’ll tell you about “The Two Crosses” tomorrow morning. Be blessed!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9 NASB)
Still committed to the climb,
