“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.” (Matthew 5:13 NASB)
I traveled out of town Wednesday night to honor an aunt who celebrated here 92nd birthday. She deserved to be honored for she has been and continues to be a pacesetter for achieving excellence as a Black woman in many fields, ranging from science to the arts. She has inspired many people, a very diverse number of persons, more than one could ever know and she has always been present, sacrificing her own time to help care for others. She has had an impact on the world, an impact on the fabric of the American culture and all the recognition she has earned, well, it is well deserved.
Just as my aunt has been an impact on changing the fabric of the culture in our world, we should do the same. Yes, we need to change the structure of our society to the best of our ability, weave back in the Christian values that have been fading far too fast, and knit permanent knotted precepts and principles of the Lord in the lives of all generations. Reality in regard to righteousness in the eyes of God’s has to be realized. Wrong can never be right. Deviance can never be divine. Falsehoods can never be the truth that sets men free. Reverse teachings can never change the truth of any biblical verse. Immorality is just that, and it does not deserve to redefine moral standards, disguising itself to make one feel approved. We need to have an impact, a positive impact, each of us as individuals, on the recapturing or reshaping the fabric of our culture in such a way that the Lord is pleased.
I know I am not “the boss of you!” But Jesus is your Lord and Savior! So, if my words do not challenge you to change the fabric of our culture for the better, read the words of Jesus above and below. Have a great Saturday! Plan on being in worship service tomorrow! Be blessed!
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 NASB)
Still committed to the climb,
