SIN SECRETS TO SACRED LIVING

And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.” (Hebrews 4:13 The Amplified Bible) “He has not dealt with us according to our sins [as we deserve], nor rewarded us [with punishment] according to our wickedness.  For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].  As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103: The Amplified Bible)

There was a TV game show that aired between 1952-1967 named, “I’ve Got A Secret.”  In that show, panelists tried to guess a guest’s secret.  Sometimes they were successful and at other times they were not.

Most people, probably excluding you, have sin secrets that they carry around and they plague them or press them to a point of guilt; a forgiven feeling that should not still be troubling them, especially if they have confessed their sins and repented, changed to persistently, pursuing living right instead of repeatedly living wrong.  Then there are people who think “their” sin secret cannot be seen by God.  Sadly, I must say that Christians know that God sees all.  But sadly, there are Christians are not exempt, not excluded from letting sin secrets suppress a sense of joy, somehow convinced that “their” secret sin is no big thing in the eyes of heaven.  Therefore, without the confessing, repenting, and finding forgiveness and the cleansing that the Lord provides, “their” sacred lives can be stained, and being submerged beneath the line of righteousness, “they” lack a truly peaceful conscience.  I doubt if this is your issue, so maybe in your case this meditation falls under the category labeled “equipping of the saints.”  After being equipped, you will be prepared to help “somebody” who is unnecessarily carry around a burden of guilt; a person who voluntary comes to you in confidence for help.

Well, if the latter is the case, here is how you can help “somebody” who is troubled by a sin secret.  Tell then they can move from sin secrets to a sacred living once again, by clearing things up with our magnificent God who majors in mercy, merely by acknowledging and acting on the verse below.  Wait I’m not done!  Then, tell them that “their” sin secret is not a secret at all because we serve a God who does not have to guess what your secret may be.  There is no “I’ve Got A Secret” show when it comes to the broadcasting of our lives before an all-seeing God!  Yes, He is an all-knowing God.

Hold on!  I’m still not done!  Be sure to ensure “the person” that you are helping, that the Lord does not carry around your sin secret, once He has forgiven you.  Prove your point by pointing to the opening verses.  We’re almost done.  Finally, tell them to rejoice and rededicate their lives to the Lord, and to resume walking in the light, the beautiful light, the light that shines from the place where mercy shines bright as the travel on the straight and narrow path of righteousness.  Close your counsel by smiling and assuring “that person” that by following the advice you provided, “he or she” can move from sin secrets to sacred living.

If by some rare, really unsuspected reality, you admit you’ve got a sin secret, such as described above.  Do some self-edification and move back to sacred living without carrying around the sin secret Satan would like to keep you focusing on and bringing you down, and even turning you around to drift in the wrong direction.  Think about these words today.  Be ready to counsel, or if necessary, be ready to quickly cancel “somebody’s” sin secret.

Look God’s servants have to talk about, address sin too!  Why?  You know the answer!  All sin and fall short of the glory of God.  But when we have our failings, we have a way to be forgiven and thus we are not failures, and we can forge ahead living such that heaven is filled with glorious smiles.  Have a great Tuesday.  Be blessed!

“If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].” (I John 1:9 The Amplified Bible)

Still committed to the climb,
