“Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.” (Psalm 144:15 NIV)
My friend, you are blessed more than you think! Let’s do two exercises, two brief exercises to raise your conscious level in regard to how blessed you are.
The first exercise is a vocal exercise. I heard a song on the radio the other day where the lyrics repeated the phrase, “I’m blessed.” In the song, the lyrics about being blessed, from a personal perspective, are repeated numerous times. The singer shouts out his testimony, “I’m blessed – yes, I’m blessed -yes, I’m blessed -yes! The artist goes on to say, “Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God the Lord above…I’m blessed!” Now your first instinct may be to tell your electronic device to play “I’m Blessed,” but wait until you do this exercise. Open your mouth and tell yourself, “I’m blessed!” multiple times. And with each utterance of this expression, unwrap all the ways that the Lord has blessed you underserving so! I’m telling you; your day will be better. You may not be able to answer your work phone and say, “Have a blessed day,” but nobody can stop you from shouting out your own testimony, “I’m blessed!” Even if you have to walk to the restroom and take one of those praise breaks, you’re entitled, and God in worthy of your praise and expressions of your gratitude.
Here is the second exercise. It is a math exercise, but still intended to raise you blessing consciousness. Take the number of years that designate your age and multiply it times 315,536,000. The latter number represents the number of seconds in a year. As someone said in prayer meeting Monday night, “Thank the Lord for the billions of blessings He has bestowed on us!” Praise God! That is so true! When you do this exercise, you will see why some saints say, “If I had 10,000 tongues, I could not praise Him enough!”
Personally, in case you are wondering, my number was so big that my calculator could not give me an answer. What showed up on my calculator was a combination of numbers and letter. It was like it was calculating in tongues! But I got it! It let me realize that you and I are blessed more than you think. Amen!
Have a rejoicing Wednesday! No complaining now! No, no, no, no, no! Instead, let this be a day that you surely do not let pass without thanking God, the One above who has blessed you! Oh, and thank Him for the eternal blessings that await us in heaven; blessings we will experience for an eternity, thanks to Christ Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross! Be blessed!
“I pray that the Lord will bless and protect you.” (Numbers 6:24 Contemporary English Version)
