STAY IN TOUCH

The hand of our God is for good on all who seek Him.” (Ezra 8:22b English Standard Version)

Per the Italian Renaissance. Org website, “the most famous section of the Sistine Chapel ceiling is Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam.  Two depicted figures, God on the right and Adam on the left.  Unlike the figure of God, who is outstretched and aloft, Adam is depicted as a lounging being who rather lackadaisically responds to God’s imminent touch.  This touch will not only give life to Adam but will give life to all mankind.”

The meaning behind any art is sometimes left to the eye of the beholder.  Since I am preaching a new series on “Fingerprints,” through my prism, I did not only see the hand of God, but I saw the finger of God reaching out to touch Adam’s finger.  I marveled at the masterpiece by Michelangelo, because God’s fingerprints are a metaphor for God’s power, God’s presence, and God’s protection.  Mankind certainly needs to benefit from the fingerprints of God.  How do we accomplish that or how do we ensure we maximize that benefit?  The answer: We need to stay in touch with Him.  Adam needed the Lord’s touch, and so do we.  Adam’s finger is reaching upwards toward the finger of God, and we need to do the same, reach upward to the place where God is looking in a condescending way toward us.  We need to stay in touch!  We need God’s fingerprints all over our lives, our home life, our work life, our social life, over all aspects of our life, our personal life, our private and or public life, and our thought life.

So, on this Wednesday morning, I want to encourage you to keep reaching for the fingerprints of God!  Stay in touch with our Creator!  Take advantage of all He has to offer!  Take advantage of His omnipotence, His omnipresence, His omniscience, and His overlooking protection.  Take advantage of how His touch can change you, and me, for the better.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!  Once more I say to you, “Stay in Touch!”  Be blessed!

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.  There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
