KINDNESS DAY

“…love is kind…” (I Corinthians 13:4 NASB)

Other than Monday, you have put up with some pretty long meditations this week, and you patiently, without perturbed criticism, you overlooked my typos and understood what I was trying to communicate.  I’ll do better with my “Pastoreez,” in my early morning writing in the future.  With that being said, let me reward you with a couple of short meditations in the next two days.

According to Wikipedia, “World Kindness Day is an international observance on November 13th. It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement.”  I disagree with inaugural date for a day of world kindness.  From my perspective, I think it goes back further in time for believers who were told to love one another by Jesus.  Of course, we know that according to scripture again, love is kind. And get this!  Even before the coming of Christ, the inspired word instructed us explicitly, informing us that kindness was something God requires us to practice.

Be moved by today’s verses.  Make your way through this day, knowing that you don’t have to wait until November 13th to be kind.  Make the days before and after that date a “World Kindness Day.”  Be blessed!

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you except to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), and to walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?” (Micah 6:8 The Amplified Bible)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
