“But if he (Onesimus) has wronged you in any way, or owes you anything, charge that to my account…” (Philemon18 NASB)
Here is your Monday Short meditation. There are two primary examples in the New Testament who take action that is similar to Paul’s pledge to pay a debt owed by someone else. The specific action that I am referring to is the Apostle offering to compensate Philemon for any debt, anything that Onesimus owed him, as seen in the opening verse. Of the two examples, one is the ultimate similar action, and the other is spoken by the one who demonstrated the ultimate similar action. Even though it sounds like a riddle, perhaps, just maybe, you already know the two actions I am referring to but let me ask anyway. Who is the key person in each example in the New Testament? In case you are saying, “A ‘Search & Find,” assignment that will take time, let me give you a hint.
The Hint: Lookup Luke 10:35 and Colossians 2:13-14. Search and find the answer to the question above. Meditate on how this is profitable for you, in more than one way. No response is required. Your research and reflection on what you find is my real reward. Have a great day! Be blessed!
