STORM WARNING

The storms of life may be raging around you, but God is always there to bring you through.” (Unknown Author)

When I opened the computer, early Wednesday morning, there was a warning about a Pineapple Express heading for California. Here is an excerpt from the article containing the warning.

“The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration defines atmospheric rivers as “narrow regions in the atmosphere that transport much of the moisture from the tropics to northern latitudes. When those bands of moisture originate in the tropical Pacific Ocean, in the vicinity of Hawaii, and focus their energy on the West Coast of the U.S. mainland, they are known as a Pineapple Express. Starting on Wednesday and lasting a week, two Pineapple Express storms will take aim at California, unleashing several inches of rain along with high winds.”

In the same article, Daniel Swain, a climate scientist added, The upcoming storms will “affect all of California’s major population centers.” There was a picture at the top of the article that warned drivers in few words on a lighted roadside side. It advised them to stay in a safe place.

With family living in the LA area, this of course caught my attention. Then, I thought about my bigger family, the universal church, fellow believers, including you, because none of us are exempt from storms coming in our lives. Sometimes, storms will come in a sequential order, one after the other, and it will look like there is no relief to be found. Well, there is a safe place when storms come in our lives. There is an action you can take when figurative storms that literally threaten you show up. To sum it up in one word, “Jesus.” To stretch my answer, I have included the passage below. The answer for the storms is still “Jesus.” Have a safe day, surviving any storm that comes your way. Be blessed!

“When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And behold, a violent storm developed on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” (Matthew 8:23-27 NASB)
