“The next day He decided to go to Galilee, and He found Philip. And Jesus said to him, “Follow Me.”Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the prophets also wrote: Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good be from Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!”Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” (John 1:43-48)
I hope you find this brief Saturday meditation stimulating, and surely beneficial as it relates to your personal evangelism. Let’s look at “The Find,” starting with Jesus, and ending or rather beginning again with you.
“The Find:” Jesus found Phillip. “The Find:” Philip found Nathaniel. “The Find:” Nathaniel found Jesus. “The Find:” It did not stop with Nathaniel being found by Peter. “The Find:” Jesus found Nathaniel, also known as Bartholomew, worthy and fitting to be one of His disciples. Nathaniel was without deceit. “The Find:” Nathaniel would go on to play an important role in the spreading of the gospel, being obedient to Jesus’ Great Commission.
“The Find:” Somehow and some way the gospel, the same one spread by Nathaniel, reached you. Praise God! Thank God that you responded and are reacting as one of Christ’s disciples and followers in this present time! “The Find:” Inasmuch as you are one of Christ disciples and followers, the Great Commission has your name on it too! So, use your personal evangelism techniques and approaches to spread the kingdom of God as you continue “The Find.” Love you today and I’ll love you tomorrow too, as you find your way to the house of worship tomorrow. Let that “The Find” stay on your mind today. Be blessed!
“And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 NASB)
