EXPERIENCE A MOMENT

You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.” (Psalm 16:11 Good News Translation)

Today, I want to encourage you to take advantage of an opportunity to experience a moment, a moment in the duo sense of the word. To be clear, know that a moment can be “a short period of time (Cambridge Dictionary).” Also, a moment as defined by the same source I just cited, can refer to “a particular time or occasion.”

This is Sunday, the Lord’s Day, the day that you can spend a few hours in the special presence of the Lord in your worship service. If you are feeling confused and concerned about the choice you face in this world, in that moment, in the special presence of the Lord, you will be reminded of a path that leads to life. There will be joy in that short period of time, in that moment. Praise will take the place of perplexity over worries, troublesome thoughts will be terminated, saints will surround you, for a moment. And for a moment, all the darkness in your life will give way to a great light shined on you from heaven. Experience a moment today!

Goodness will reign for a moment as you fellowship with others who surround the center of the sanctuary where God’s sent word is delivered, and the consensus will undoubtedly be that God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. You will be close to God, closer than other times, for a moment. Experience a moment today!

While there is no heaven on earth, you will be in fellowship with future residents of heaven above, those who know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Yes, I know! That will be your experience for a moment. But think of it as just a tidbit, consider that even though it just a short period of time, merely a couple of hours, a extremely short time compared to the eternity God’s children will experience in glory, when their souls go home to be with the Lord, even though in comparison it is a short time, it is a time  that leads to “better” in this life.  Again, I want to encourage your to experience a moment this morning at the house of God. Experience a moment!

Since I referred to a moment in a duo sense of the word at the start of this meditation, know that your experience at your church this Sunday, if you have a heart to receive God’s specific sent message, sent specifically by a sent messenger, and sent specifically for you for a specific purpose, your presence in the house of the Lord will be a moment that is a prominent, particular time or occasion that will have you leaving the church better than you came through the church entry doors. Praise God for It will be a moment for sure, an occasion that will serve as a springboard to continue your pursuit of perfection. Therefore, you will be ready to achieve excellence in your walk with God. Experience a moment!

Thank you for listening to me, making the effort to encourage you to experience a moment this Sunday. I hope my efforts to encourage you were not in vain. I pray you will enter the sanctuary ready to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness and to benefit from the riches found in His word. Have a life-changing moment, today! Experience a moment! Be blessed!

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
