WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN “THOUGH IT ALL”

Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? ’For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:25-33 New King James Version)

I know the song! But I too have been to many places in life, and I too have seen many faces, and I too know that through it all I have learned to trust in God to take care of me.  Can I share with you about my many places?

I’ve lived in a steel trailer, a shotgun house, a small cape cod house we thought was spacious, but today it would fit the category called “tiny homes,” a four-bedroom apartment, more than a few rented houses, a two-bedroom townhouse during a time where eight of us lived under one roof, the anchor house on the cul-de-sac near a lake in another state, a home just blocks away from where a couple of millionaires lived, and my current residence, a split level which is in a  flood zone and tolerant of all-day heavy rain. But through it all, I learned to trust in Jesus, I learned to trust in God, as I was provided with food, clothing, and shelter. Sometimes I know it was the Lord’s mercy that saw me through my “places” and other times I know it was my commitment to seek ye first the kingdom of God that ensured me that like the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, the Lord would take care of me.

Don’t forget you own “through it all!” Look at your “through it all” from a positive and purely developmental way to make sure you maintain your trust in God. Yes, we all have our own “through it all” and that’s for sure. But the other thing for sure, when it comes to God’s children, He will provide.

Have a praise-filled day, just thinking of your “through it all,” coupled with the fact that the Lord has truly been good to you!  Yes, He has! Praise Him!  Shout aloud! Look to heaven and clap your hands, even if you read this in the workplace! He’s worthy! He will supply your needs! As my youngest says, “Won’t He do it!” Be blessed!

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV)

Committed to the climb,
