CARTEL de MADERAS (THE WOODEN SIGNS)

Some time ago I brought a set of six square wooden signs, each 5×5 inches. They are small, but they all have a simple message inscribed on them to inspire the one who sees them. Recently I moved all but two of the signs from the area I have refer to as my home office to a room downstairs where they will match some natural wood décor. Yes, I am always moving things. Compulsive? Maybe!  But that’s not up for discussion this morning.

Let me focus on the two wooden signs in my office to reveal how true the songwriter’s words that say, “Without Him I could do nothing, without Him I would fail, like a ship without a sail.”  You see, one sign says, “Believe In You.” The other sign says, “Faith.” I was about to throw away the first sign that was sitting on my desk because I did not want it to be seen by someone and focus on doing anything alone, without the Lord.  I did not want anyone, perchance to think they could work independently with increasing individual confidence, while failing to count on Christ. I was being cautious about the message, not wanting anyone to dare think they could make it through anything, without the Master and His guidance. Sending the right message is always important, whether it be by our words, objects, or our body language.  I could be wrong, but I did not want to take the chance that someone seeing the “Believe In You Sign” sitting all alone on my desk cause one to focus on self-capability and possible leave out the Savior’s ability.

So, this is what I did, requiring me to put yet more holes in the wall. I put the two signs together, mounted them in the center of the main wall in hopes that when anyone read them, they would set out to reach commendable goals, realizing that the attainment of those goals would be achievable by partnering with the Lord. We cannot leave the Lord out of our personal pursuits. We cannot leave the Lord any of our particular plans, nor can we leave Him out of our presented performance in any area of life.

That’s all I have to share this morning; taught you a little Spanish and told you about a special truth that will benefit you and others. Read the verse below and keep looking above in whatever you do. Have a great day! Be blessed!

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 NASB)

Committed to the climb,
