“Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi 3:7b King James Version)
Yes, this is your Monday Short meditation, less than the words on one page of a typical book. I hope you take the time to read it before starting your day, whether working remotely, or returning to your place of employment, or relaxing on vacation, or reaping the schedule-free time of retirement.
Saturday evening, I attended an open house for a high school graduate, a daughter of one of my wife’s former colleagues. I live on the west side, very near the western county line. The open house was on the far east side, the far, far east side. The celebration was held at an event center located on the grounds where I remember camping as a cub scout some sixty-five years ago. Oh, stop doing the math and read on!
Years have passed, but I did remember the general area and which direction to head. But to make sure we got to the destination directly without seeming being on a wild goose chase, my wife turned on the map app on her phone. I followed the instructions until I got to one busy throughfare and was unable to obey the instructions due to interference, by that I mean cars blocking the two lanes in front of where I was told to turn. So, I stopped listening to the voice on the map app and ventured on my own. I ended up going a totally different way but was stumped quickly on finding the open house site successfully. Just in time, the map app gave me a second chance and got me headed in the right direction with very specific instructions. This time I listened, and we arrived at our destination. You can imagine the peace I felt within and the sense of safety and security.
Now, here is the point, this week you will start off, like most of us, following the directions, not coming from an app, but from the Almighty. It is quite possible that you will run into some interference presented by the world around you. My advice to you, first of all, try your best to stay with the instructions given by the Almighty. Second, if you get off track, return quickly to listening to the way the Almighty directs you. Yes, you will experience joy, safety, and a sense of security. Have a great Monday! Be blessed!
