DON’T BE HYPOCRITICAL

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (James 1:22 NLT Version)

This is your Monday Short meditation. It involves a quote from one of the well-known Wyatt Earp movies. Incidentally, I am always amazed that my father, although somewhere when he was between five and six years old, Wyatt Earp was still alive. Isn’t that something? Inasmuch as I would like to reflect on that more, let me refrain from doing so and share the quote and be quick to make a point. The quote, which was spoken by the actor playing Doc Holliday: “My hypocrisy only goes so far.”  The quick point: Don’t be hypocritical.

Remember the point, don’t allow hypocrisy to surface. Do your best.  Be blessed!

“So put aside every trace of malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander and hateful speech; like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment], if in fact you have [already] tasted the goodness and gracious kindness of the Lord.” (I Peter 2:1-3 The Amplified Bible)

Committed to the climb,
