“The Bible is like medicine. It goes to work only when we apply it to the affected areas. (NIV Study Bible Below the Line Comment)
Each morning, for my physical well-being, I take five different medicines. I don’t have one of those daily medicine containers, but I do have my own system to ensure that I don’t miss taking my prescribed dosages or take them twice. This is what I do. I set my water bottle on the cabinet in the kitchen where I keep my pills. If I see the bottle still sitting there in the middle of the morning, I know that I need to still take my meds. If it has already been placed in the refrigerator, I know I’m good. Gone are the days where I hardly took any medicine. These days, it is essential that I take my medicine every single day so my health will not fail.
When it comes to my spiritual being, I take a special kind of medicine daily too and I must keep taking it for the rest of my life. This medicine that I am referring to is none other than the word of God. As the quote above indicated, it is like medicine, and it always improves the areas of my life where enhancement of my spiritual being, and behavior is needed.
Did you take your medicine today? If you have not, it’s not too late. And here is what I suggest. Develop a regular system so that you will make sure to take some profitable word from the container called the Holy Bible every day going forward. It is essential, and this medicine will ensure that your spiritual health will be firm as an unmovable rock, and your failings will be gone in the wind. Have a great day! Be blessed!
“Don’t trust in your own wisdom, but fear and respect the Lord and stay away from evil. If you do this, it will be like a refreshing drink and medicine for your body.” (Proverbs 3:7-8 Easy-to-Read Version)
