PRAY FOR OUR CITIES!

This Sunday morning, at prayer time at your local church, please pray for the cities in this country. Then, get specific and pray for the city in which you reside. Keep it up doing the week and as conditions are worsening, crime is rising, and the unbelieving our threatening, instilling fear, and affecting everyday social manners.  Pray for our cities in your favorite, personal place that you pray in at your home.  Pray for our cities at the dinner table and before you close your eyes to sleep, confident that the Lord is watching over you. Pray for our cities in your designated “war room” or prayer closet.

Think about what is going on. People don’t trust new faces that they see passing by in all kinds of places. Seldom, rarely to people even exchange a friendly look or a “Good day” greeting anymore.  I’m telling you; the happenings are different these days!

Notice the way people avoid each other in super stores and stores small in size. Notice the same behavior displayed in sunny parking lots, streets around our homes, and even at special venues where one would think all in attendance have the same interest and a common desire for a peaceful experience.  Please, pray for our cities. Don’t wait for a prayer vigil spurred by a criminal act that robbed someone of a full life or life completely. Pray for our cities every day!

If you need some help with praying for the city, just repeat or refine the words of David as found in one of the Psalms he composed. I have written them below in our closing verses.

All you have read might have been alarming. But don’t be so alarmed that you cannot enjoy service! Enjoy your worship experience today!  God is still God and He is worthy for our praise and our gratitude for every day we make it safely to and from, going here and there. Nevertheless, don’t forget to pray for our cities! Be blessed!

“Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city. Day and night they prowl about on its walls; malice and abuse are within it. Destructive forces are at work in the city; threats and lies never leave its streets.” (Psalm 55:10-11)

Committed to the climb,
