“For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 NASB)
Here is your Monday Short meditation. Also, here’s a suggestion: Forward it to someone you know who needs to be saved, or someone who is drifting away from the faith.
Last week, while in Chicago, I came across a book entitled, “The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Handbook,” written by Joshua Piven and David Borgenicht. There were other contributors and an illustrator that helped put this book together.
There were many “how to” suggestions regarding “worst-case scenarios. For instance, to name a few, “How to Survive a Boring Class,” “How to Retrieve a Candy Bar Stuck in the Lunchroom Vending Machine, “ How to Escape from a Collapsed Sofa Bed,” “How to Escape From the Trunk of a Car,” “How to Escape From a Bad Date,” “How to Deal with a Screaming baby on an Airplane,” ‘How to Survive Awkward Elevator Silence,” “How to Fend Off a Pickup Artist”, and How to Identify a Nightmare Workplace.” These were just a few of excerpts from this cited book that has over 400 pages, each page with several “How to” suggestions. Admittedly, some were humorous, and some actually presented the reader with good advice.
I did not read the whole book, just scanned through it. But a question came to mind, “Was it really complete, when it comes to worst-case scenarios? I’ll have to look at it deeper, spend more time going through the content at a later date. Yet, I will tell you that if it does not include “How to Escape the Just Wages of Sin,” it is not complete. Read the opening verse again. Have a great start to your workweek! Don’t forget to pass this on! Be blessed!
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10 King James Version)
