THE SENSELESSNESS OF STUBBORNNESS

“Don’t be like some senseless horse or mule, whose movement must be controlled
with a bit and a bridle. Don’t be anything like that!” (Psalm 32:9 Common English Bible)

Preachers, always telling us what to do!” That’s how some people look at it! But perhaps we should express it this way, “Preachers, those who preach the word of God, they are always telling us the right thing to do.” I like the latter expression better. I like it so much that I will tell you: (1) Plan on being in the assembly of the saints tomorrow, Sunday, (2) Pay attention to the specific sent message from God, sent at that specific time, specifically for you for a specific purpose. (3) Put to silence those “voices,” from the past or present, whose unconscious objectives are to position your heart in a hard and obstinate place. (4) Please be submissive to your God-sent leader. Afterall, he/she is just humbly doing as the Lord requires; just being a mouthpiece to educate, edify, encourage, enable you to make perfect progress on your Christian journey, and to entice you to participate in the pew-pulpit dynamics. That last admonition refers to exchanges between pulpit and pew, heartfelt exchanges, that help enlist the unchurched who will see by your excitement, see by your elevated hand(s), hear by your energetic truthful acknowledgement of the spoken truths, truths not based on opinion, but rather based on the word from our omniscient Lord, the One who speaks from above through His chosen vessel.

Enjoy this day! Be happy throughout this Saturday! Tomorrow, Sunday, be more than happy! Be joyful; joyful, joyful; joyful to the point that you cannot keep it to yourself! Love you! Be blessed!

“And so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful.” (Proverbs 8:32 NLT)

P.S. Forward this meditation to just three people today! Again, “Be blessed!”

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
