IN CASE YOU FORGOT

Here is the Monday Short meditation, the one by design the is supposed to be brief and succinct! Okay! Well, that still does not mean I cannot start with a short story. So, here we go.

I almost forgot that the duty of decorating the fireplace in the church education center was delegated to me. My described duty was to call on my interior design passion and create a dedicated photo opportunity spot for the pitch-in meal that is scheduled after our worship service on December 22. Forgetfulness! Listen! Whether we are young or old, still acknowledging by my own admission and albeit personal recall difficulties, I would not argue that forgetfulness occurs more with the latter, but I would be equally adamant in saying that in spite of age, all of us fail to remember something, almost, if not altogether. Yes, we all forget something that we are supposed to do or should have done. Well in case you forgot to give precedence to a very important thing you should do every day, for the sake of brevity, I will merely share some words in one of Charlie Prides 1971 recordings. Yeah. I’m going country on you but still trying to keep you going too; keep you committed to the climb. Here are the lyrics:

“Hey, you left your room this morning did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ our Savior, did you sooth for loving favor as a shield today?

Oh, how praying rests the weary, prayer will change the night to day!
So when life seems dark and dreary. don’t forget to pray!

When you’ve met with great temptation, did you think to pray?
By His dying love and merit, did you claim the Holy Spirit as your guide today?

Oh, how praying rests the weary, prayer will change the night to day!
So, when life seems dark and dreary, don’t forget to pray!”

Love you, my friend. Keep praying! Be blessed!

“.…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.!” (Philippians 4:6-7 English Standard Version)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
