FAVORITE PLACE TO VISIT

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” (I John 5:14 ESV)

If it had not been for work related travel, the places that I have I visited would have been restricted, primarily, to places in Indiana, Kentucky, Chicago, and Ohio. Work related travel allowed me to visit most major cities and even perform an important assignment in Mexico. I have seen many places with historic significance as a result of such travel in cities like Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Seattle, Houston, Charlotte, Lancaster, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, and Honolulu, and a few other cities. However, none of my primary places to visit and not one of the prominent cities that I just mentioned earn the distinction of my favorite place to visit.

With that said, let me tell you my most favorite, and frankly necessary place to visit. It is the throne of our gracious God in heaven above. I can go there anytime, from anywhere, and I can have a one-on-one dialogue with the Creator of the world. There are powerful and wise people everywhere on this earth, but none can compare to our omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, merciful, and gracious God. Whatever the problem, I can go to God in prayer. Whenever I am in need for direction, I can look beyond the hills to the Lord from whom my help comes from. In times when I need relief from the rigors of this life, and when I must release anxieties, I can reach upward to the One who made it possible for me to have eternal life.

If your favorite place to visit ranks higher than my favorite place to visit, I suggest you do a reassessment of your choice and reconsider your ranking. If your favorite place is the same as mine, don’t change a thing! Keep praying! Have a tremendously good Thursday! Be blessed!

“Therefore, let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.” (Hebrews 4:16 NASB)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
