“The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country and your people. Leave your father’s family and go to the country that I will show you. I will build a great nation from you.
I will bless you and make your name famous. People will use your name to bless other people. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you. I will use you to bless all the people on earth.” So, Abram left Haran just like the Lord said, and Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran.” (Genesis 12:1-4 Easy-to-Read Version)
First, let me share a message that I read on a packet of Splenda as I was preparing a cup of coffee Thursday morning. The message said, “The best way to get there is to start.” Now, referring to the passage above, and paraphrasing it more than it already has been reworded, let me tell you that like Abram, the best way for you to get to your blessing is to just start! Yes, “just start!” Just start going where the Lord wants you to go from a behavioral, obedient perspective, and even if you can’t see your blessing initially, just start. Blessings do come with obedience, even if it is just being blessed initially to endure what you are experiencing at the moment. More blessings will come.
If you want to break a bad habit, just start! If you want to evict the thoughts you should not have in your mind and put in their place thoughts that align with God’s will, get in the word. Just start! If you feel you need to pray more, just start! If you need to apply the principles of love, forgiveness, and quick reconciliation in your house, God’s house, or the place that houses your workspace, just start! If you need to focus on joy and find yourself rejoicing instead of focusing on trying to be happy based on your happenings, just start! If you want to stop being lazy and be more productive, just start! If you want to be a better witness for the Lord, just start! The best way to get to all the blessings that come with changes like I have mention is to just start.
Now, I hope you are reading this early Sunday morning, or even Saturday evening, since I send the meditations for the upcoming day out early. Either way, I hope that you read this in a timely manner so that you can get this last thought! Are you ready? Here is the thought: The best way to get to church this morning and be part of the assembly of the saints is to get up and, yes, just start on your way! Thank God for another day! How do you thank Him? Just start! Be blessed!
Committed to the climb,
