“The apostles gathered together with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught. And He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a little while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.) And they went away in the boat to a secluded place by themselves.” (Mark 6:30-32 NASB)
Here is your Monday Short meditation, really! In studying Mark 6 last week in all three of our weekly Bible Study classes, we looked at the verses above and saw that when the apostles took a “getaway” they were with each other, “themselves,” not those who opposed our friend, Christ, not those who offered firm resistance to faith, and not those who had a false understanding of Jesus’ ministry and were only seeking to be healed or helped. When the apostles took a getaway, it was with each other, all chosen by the Lord. One inspired, faithful sister in the Friday class said two sentences that serve as perfect advice: (1) “Watch who you get away with.” (2) “Watch who you go out with.” Store this counsel in your heart. I’m done, but please let me add a verse from one of the same faithful sister’s favorite passages to give you further guidance. Be blessed!
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” (Psalm 1:1 King James Version)
