NSF

No matter how high you have ascended on your climb up to your home above, regardless of your spiritual maturity, integrity is required. So, as you read this be completely honest about the times when your faith was floundering. Where is your faith? Is heaven sending you an NSF (Non-Sufficient Faith) notice?  Let’s explore a little.

After you have cared for others, you wonder who will take care of you. Should you not remember that God will take care of you? You have concerns about how you will provide food, shelter, and clothing for your family. Where is your faith? Should you not recall that the Lord said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be provided for you?” Where is your faith? Is heaven sending you an NSF notice?

If you have had a few failings, intermittently but not repeatedly or if you experience a failing becoming an increasing habit, and you think can never get a new start where you regain your spiritual strength, re-establish your living so that it matches the description of being one of His witnesses, or renew your commitment to the climb. Where is your faith? Should you not revisit the word of God where it says, “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness?” Where is your faith? Is heaven sending you an NSF notice?

Have you felt alone, ever? Where is your faith? Did you forget the Lord saying, “I will never leave you or forsake you?” Where is your faith? Is heaven sending you an NSF notice?

Are you about to join those who have abandoned the church and are drifting away from their faith because the number of those in all the concentric circles of your congregation have shrunk over the last few years? Where is your faith? Don’t you remember how the Lord gave Gideon the victory with three hundred men over the enemy whose number was as great as the sand on the seashore? Where is your faith? Is heaven sending you an NSF notice?

Perhaps you attend church on Sunday morning, and you take off your religiosity and spirituality, just like you take off your Sunday clothes that same afternoon, and you hang them up in the closet until the next Sunday. Are you letting the darkness overshadow your light Monday through Saturday? Where is your faith? I remember Jesus teaching us, “You are the light of the world.” Where is your faith? Is heaven sending you an NSF notice.

I could go on and on, but let me give you one more. Have you reached the point that you think you are too old to make a difference or too young to have an impact? Somebody reading this is saying, “Watch out now!” That’s okay. But seriously let me ask you, “Where is your faith?” Have you forgotten that nothing is impossible with God?

You know yourself better than anyone else, except your Creator, the Lord our God. Yet only you can add a personal addendum to this meditation about your NSF. Own up to it! I’ll do the same. Then, turn to the word of God and start walking by faith and not by sight!

My dear friend, I hope that I did not come across as being bossy with my exclamation marks. But, trust me, I just wanted to really make the point that the Lord wanted me to communicate to you today. There is a specific message in this meditation specifically for you and for me too.

Remember, if you want to please God, faith is required. Also, remember, according to what I read in James’ epistle, faith works. Let me get preachy! I said, “faith works!”  Whatever mountain that is causing you to be sent an NSF, employ faith and move that mountain! Love you! Be blessed!

“Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,” said Jesus. ‘The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.’” (Matthew 17:20 The Message Bible)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
