“Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,” (Proverbs 1:5 English Standard Version)
Have you ever been in a virtual meeting and individuals in the virtual room just show their name or have the same picture appear every time there is a meeting? And on top of that, they never say a word. Now, to fair, before I say what I want to say, I need to insert this disclaimer: This is not true for everyone who does what I just mentioned. However, in some cases, being in the room, the virtual room, does not mean you are really in the room. You could be sleeping, eating, cooking, or talking on your cellphone while you have your computer on silence. You could be in the kitchen doing chores, making up your bed, or engaged in a variety of other activities when you should be actually in the virtual room. My premise, presented in the title, is possibly problematic because by not being in the room, one misses out on what is being shared for their benefit, and perhaps the benefit of others. The remedy: Don’t just tune in and immediately tune out. Be in the room, really! Now, let’s look at another type of room.
This room is called the sanctuary or better described as the place where the saints gather to hear a specific word, sent by a specific messenger, specifically for you, and for a specific purpose. Yes, this room, described in one word is “church.” The same problem exists as with the virtual room situation that I described above. You can be physically present, but not in the room mentally and spiritually. Right? Well, that’s my viewpoint and I am sticking to it! Stay alert when you attend church! Hear what thus saith the Lord, when you attend church! Worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, when you attend church! You definitely do not want to miss out on the information that is being shared for your benefit, and perhaps for the benefit of others who you will influence. The remedy is the same: Don’t just tune in and immediately tune out. Be present in the room, really, and present yourself as a true worshipper. Keep what you have read today in mind, even though it is a few days before Sunday. This will make sure that you are really in the room at church service. Be blessed!
“God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24 The Amplified Bible).”
