DO IT WHILE YOU CAN OR DO IT FOR WHEN YOU CAN’T!

“There is precious treasure and oil in the home of the wise, but a foolish person swallows it up.” (Proverbs 21:20 NASB)

There is a twofold purpose behind this Sunday meditation. First, when it comes to spending your money, you can buy all the things that make you look as though you fall in the group referred to as the rich and famous while struggling to pay rent, stressing about having to buy a growing child some new shoes already, and stealing from God as viewed from the perspective of “Will a man rob God?” You know what I mean. The other option is that you can spend moderately and store away monies that you will need when you are on the far side of “I once was young and now I’m old.” The choice is yours, you can do it while you can or do it for when you can’t. I wish someone had ingrained that thought in my mind. Please share this with some younger adults in your circle of influence, especially those who are in the early days of working. Perhaps they will not find themselves thinking about their choices.

Second, since no one knows when their days on earth shall end, and no one knows the day or the hour that Jesus will return, those who don’t know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord, need to consider confessing Christ today. The same choice is applicable, you can do it while you can or do it for when you can’t.

Perhaps today, when you attend church you will decide the former! Try Jesus! Like the songwriter said, “Once you do, you won’t need no one else.” Be blessed!

But Paul stood his ground. “With all respect, Festus, Your Honor, I’m not crazy. I’m both accurate and sane in what I’m saying. The king knows what I’m talking about. I’m sure that nothing of what I’ve said sounds crazy to him. He’s known all about it for a long time. You must realize that this wasn’t done behind the scenes. You believe the prophets, don’t you, King Agrippa? Don’t answer that—I know you believe.” But Agrippa did answer: “Keep this up much longer and you’ll make a Christian out of me!” Paul, still in chains, said, “That’s what I’m praying for, whether now or later, and not only you but everyone listening today, to become like me—except, of course, for this prison jewelry!” (Acts 26:25-29 The Message Bible)

Committed to the climb,
