TIME TO REMIND YOU OF THE UNFOLDING

“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good…” (Genesis 50:20 King James Version)

I don’t know what’s going on in your life; don’t know if you feel like it’s the best of times or the worst of times; don’t know if you feel triumphant or troubled; don’t know if you consider yourself up or down. But listen! What I do know is that God is not through with the unfolding of your life story. No, not yet! I’ve written about the unfolding before, but I believe is is time to remind you of the unfolding. Consider it a specific message sent at a specific time by a specific messenger for a specific purpose, specifically for you!

I say that God is not through with “The Unfolding” of your life with confidence, especially in view of “The Unfolding” of some individuals in the scriptures. Can I name just a few? Thank you, for your permission.

Abraham had to wait for 100 years to have a descendant named Isaac. Noah had to wait for the rain but continued to work while he waited. And then Noah had to wait until the rain stopped after 40 days and 40 nights. Joseph, the person speaking in the opening verse above, he had to spend time in the pit, spend time put out of a position in Potiphar’s house, lost it because of a lie, and he had to spend time in prison before he got to the palace and became the second highest ranking man in Egypt!

Moses had to wait 80 years before he was called to deliver God’s people from Egyptian captivity. The children of Israel had to wait 430 years before God sent them a deliverer. But by that time, they were large enough in number to be considered a great nation. The freed people had to wait at a place call Pi-Hahiroth, surround by mountains, the Egyptian army behind them and the Red Sea before them before God made a way out of no way. The children of Israel had to march around the walled city of Jericho, following the Lord’s instructions to a tee, before the walls of that city came tumbling down. David had to wait before advancing from a shepherd to a king. Elijah had to wait until he trained Elijah to succeed him in ministry.

The inhabitants of the besieged city of Samaria had to wait until four lepers decided keeping the spoils left behind by the army that God caused to flee by His divine intervention; they decided that keeping instead of sharing the good news was not right, and consequently the prophecy of food being sold at the gate would be fulfilled. The children of Israel had to learn a lesson in Babylonian captivity before returning to their homeland after 70 years. God’s people had to wait for 42 generations before Jesus stepped out of glory and came to save us!  Go ahead and praise God!

Speaking of Jesus, after he sacrificed His life on Calvary, there was a wait of three days before He got up with all power in His hands. As believers, the Lord is still developing us in the sanctification process. You are not yet what you shall be!  Smile! Scriptures reveal that God’s people will go through this process called “The Unfolding.”

I want to encourage you this morning, regardless of what’s going on in your life to keep trusting God! Keep waiting on the Lord! Keep expecting that God has something “next” for you in this life. He is not through with you yet? As the song says, “The best is yet to come!’

Be steadfast, my friend, and let your hope be invigorated this morning! Be blessed!

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NIV)

Committed to the climb,
