“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].” (John 5:1-9a NLT Version)
This is your Monday Short meditation! If by some slim chance you have any concern about rainy days that may show up in the week ahead, let me assure you that there is no need to worry. Whether the rainy days are in the form of actual weather-related conditions, attacking weariness that raises up against you, one way or another, or if agitating actions of any enemies of believers rains down on you, you my fellow believer need to know that there is no need worry. That is, if you dwell in the shelter of the Most High. You know His character, so trust Him! He’s the Almighty, so trust Him! You know His caring nature and that means He will protect you! Trust Him!
Do you remember those conditional “If/Then” statements you learned about in high school geometry? That same formula can be used to assure you of God’s protection when the rains come. It goes like this: “IF” we dwell in His shelter, “THEN” we will find ourselves feeling secure, even on rainy days.
The “weather” is not up to you, but the “whether” is up to you. For abiding in Him and trusting in Him is a personal choice. Have a great day and I hope you stay under the Lord’s “umbrella.” I’m praying for you! Be blessed!
“I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in Him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13 Easy-to-Read Bible)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
If I read the Mark Writes Daily meditations everyday, then I will be filled with just what I need to make it through the day. Thank you Pastor for 35 years of service and for the million words you have written over the years to encourage God’s people and those that don’t even know Him.
Your statement “The ‘weather’ is not up to you, but the ‘whether’ is up to you.” left a meaningful impression on me.
You just made me smile, knowing the benefit of Mark Writes Daily! I like the “Whether” impression! Be blessed!
Pastor, thank you for the mini years of dedication and service. The countless numbers of meditations you have shared over the years have meaning and purpose and I hope you know that none of it is in vain. Thank you for unselfishly sharing your wisdom with the masses.
Your statement “The ‘weather’ is not up to you, but the ‘whether’ is up to you.” left a meaningful impression on me too. What that statement said to me is that if I use what I have in the right way, that I have power too. To God be the glory! Thank you Pastor for 35 wonderful year’s.
Yes, Sis. Lynn! To God be the glory! The years would not have been accomplished without people like you who have been steadfast and immovable through it all. The “whether” implication speaks to us all. Be blessed! Thank you!
