I posted this a little after midnight, as soon as Saturday’s shift was over and it was Sunday’ turn to do a 24-hour shift. It’s Sunday and know that Sunday is not just another day, one of the seven days in the week. There is something very special about Sunday. It is the Lord’s Day. So, it is only proper that I pose the question to you, “Where ‘R’ you going this morning?”
‘R” you going to relax somewhere in the confines of your home all day, really exhausted from all your running around during the week, and perhaps even the running around you were doing just last night? Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
‘R’ you just getting up too late to get to church, but not too late to get to the places that you personally and wrongly consider the place to be on your day, forgetting it is not really your day, but rather the Lord’s Day? Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
‘R’ you going to wrap your arms around a loved one or are you going to go to the church house and recognize the loving arms of the One who protected you from hurt, harm, and danger Monday through Saturday, and all the days of your life up to now? Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
‘R” you going to sit on the porch and think about life or are you going to go sit in the pew where you can learn more about the One came that you might have life more abundantly and life everlasting? Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
‘R” you not even going to rise out of the bed, and not go honor and praise the One you prayed to at bedtime when you were a little child and you said, “Now I lay me down to sleep, pray the Lord my soul to keep?” Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
‘R’ you ready to go fishing, or are you going to get a specific word sent from heaven above, a word that includes the saying, “Follow Me and I will make your fishers of men?” Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
‘R’ you feeling like you are too down to go out or are you going to the place where you will be lifted up and where you can change your being from feeling bad to feeling oh so much better? Where ‘R’ you going this morning?
I don’t know where you ‘R” going this morning, but I am going to the house of the Lord and worship Him in spirit and in truth. I hope you “R” going to do the same. Be blessed!”
“One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches. I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin. All sunshine and sovereign is God, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn’t scrimp with his traveling companions. It’s smooth sailing all the way with God-of-the-Angel-Armies.” (Psalm 84:10-12 The Message Bible)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
Thanks be to God that my goings R always to be in the presence of the Lord. Thanks be to God, that my going on Sunday was to be in the house of the Lord to worship and praise Him for loving me and keeping me because I am one of His own.
You “R” so right, Dr. King! May God bless you, even more!
