SCOURGE THE HOUSE!

“Or imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she’ll call her friends and neighbors: ‘Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!’ Count on it—that’s the kind of party God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.” (Luke 15:8-10 The Message Bible)

It’s not even Monday, but you deserve a short meditation. Afterall, you have been so faithful and fairly tolerable on the days I get, from some people’s perspective, “too wordy.” In defense though, I have to counter with a comment that any message inspired by the Lord can never be “too wordy.”

Let me get to the point. The woman in Jesus’ parable scoured the house to find her lost coin. We need to follow her example and scour our houses for those who are lost and need to turn to God. One more thing, and I’m done. Just for clarification, know that the house to be scourged goes beyond your immediate family living in the same dwelling, but includes extended family, and anyone in your cultural lineage.

I’m finished my assignment to write this meditation. Now it’s time for your personal assignment: Go and scourge the house. God be with you!  Be blessed!

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King

  1. There are some members of my family that need a closer walk with Jesus. Some need to come to know Him. Either way, scourging won’t have to go too far to find the ones Jesus wants, to allow Him into their hearts.

    1. Unfortunately true in so many, or shall we say, too many homes. Thanks for taking time to respond. Bless you!
