THE THREE STRANDS

“Also, one can be overpowered, but two together can put up resistance. A three-ply cord doesn’t easily snap.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12 Complete English Bible)

Praise God for being able to see a new day, and not just any “new day,” but Sunday, the Lord’s Day! Like the three strands in the three-ply cord above, you can experience: (1) Being in the assembly of the saints, you will be equipped by a special word from the Lord and be built up by the fellowship with fellow believers. (2) Being in the presence of people who need to be encouraged by you, as you recall and perhaps even re-tell of the wondrous things that the Lord has done for you, and by sharing the testimonies that He has given you over time. As a matter of fact, just your mere presence will make a positive difference in somebody’s life. (3) Being in the special presence of the Lord in the sanctuary, a place that will be saturated with praise and where your will be filled with the word of God by means of solid, scriptural teaching and preaching. Praise God for that will build up your spiritual resistance. As two members of the Friday Bible Study class I teach emphasized, “There is strength in the strands of ‘the rope.’” Don’t dismiss that fact that you are one of the strands, okay?

This morning realize that you are not just going to be occupying a seat in the sanctuary, but you and others will be positioned and protected against snapping, against breaking down because of your circumstance or the tough situations you are facing or are about to face. So, if you have not already finished getting ready to depart for the house of worship this morning, what are you waiting for? Go and finish getting ready and proceed to enter the Lord’s house, being a blessing and receiving a blessing. Don’t be the missing strand. All three strands are important. Be blessed!

“We should think about each other to see how we can encourage each other to show love and do good works. We must not quit meeting together, as some are doing. No, we need to keep on encouraging each other. This becomes more and more important as you see the Day getting closer.: (Hebrews 10:24-25 Easy-to-Read Bible)
