THE HOME CHOICE

In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2 The Amplified Bible)

I enjoy watching HGTV shows, especially the ones where couples are looking at options for a new home. The couple usually have different preferences in what they would like to see in a new home. One likes open concept that flows from kitchen to the dining area to the living room, and the other wants a designated dining room. One wants a backyard that is easy to upkeep. and the other wants a lot of acreage. One wants a colonial style, and the other wants a ranch style home. One wants a glam room, and the other wants a game room. In the end it typically works out, yes typically. There are times when some couples decide to keep looking or even determine they are not made for each other. Oh my!

Perhaps you have been through this process, or you will go through it in the future. My wife and I have been living in the same house for over 30 years and often, as we watch the couple on the HGTV shows, we reminisce, revisit our search for homes and how we were just blessed to have a home and even before that, blessed to have our offer accepted and to be approved by the bank.  If we ever decided to move in the future, I wonder if we would now find ourselves debating about different preferences. Who knows?

However, there is one thing I know, when it comes to our eternal home, it is already prepared, no preferences have to be selected or debated, and the move will be one accompanied by great peace! If you are saved, aren’t you glad that you will not have to wonder if your choice for your new place will be more than suitable. Let me tell you something, reaffirming you made the right choice for your future dwelling place! Heaven will be more than suitable. Have a great day at church this morning. Be blessed!

“The city itself was pure, transparent gold like glass! The wall was made of jasper, and was built on twelve layers of foundation stones inlaid with gems: the first layer with jasper; the second with sapphire; the third with chalcedony; the fourth with emerald; the fifth with sardonyx; the sixth layer with sardus; the seventh with chrysolite; the eighth with beryl; the ninth with topaz; the tenth with chrysoprase; the eleventh with jacinth; the twelfth with amethyst. The twelve gates were made of pearls—each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure, transparent gold, like glass. No temple could be seen in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are worshiped in it everywhere. And the city has no need of sun or moon to light it, for the glory of God and of the Lamb illuminate it.” (Revelation 21:18-23 The Living Bible)
